Golf journalist and sportswriter

Daniel Mitchell is Danel Mitchella veteran golf journalist and sportswriter based in Jupiter, Fla. He has written first-hand about historic golf developments including Ryan Moore’s 2004 sweep of the game’s major amateur championships and the design of groundbreaking Chambers Bay golf course, host to the 2010 U.S. Amateur and 2015 U.S. Open.

Mitchell began playing golf at age 12. He’s been immersed in the game ever since, acquiring expert-level knowledge of topics such as golf course architecture, equipment, swing mechanics, professional golf, history and tradition. He’s been fortunate to play many of America’s great golf courses, including the Ocean Course at Kiawah Island and TPC Sawgrass.

Since 1991, Mitchell’s work has appeared in dozens of media outlets, including Golf Washington Magazine, Travelgolf.com, the Orlando Sentinel and the South Florida Sun-Sentinel.
