Types of grapes

There are a variety of different types of wine and you will really enjoy the wine selection. The wine selection is very important to know more about what kind of wine goes good with the red meat and what kind of wine goes good with fish. It is important to select the right type of wine to enhance the flavor of the meal rather than clashing. The properly selected wine clean and upgrade the platform that will allow the food tastes as pleasant from the first bite to last.

Wines are divided into two major categories: red and white, but each category has many subcategories. Many people argue that red wines can be served only with exotic meats and wines as ostrich and emus and white wine should only be paired with fish, roast pork, chicken and deserts. Hundreds of the year this might have been true, however with all the new vineyards as well as hundreds of other wine processing techniques that are available today. Who can say what is right and wrong, provided the food and wine pairing provides pleasant dining experience.

Grapes used in wine-making determine on the type of wine it produces. Some grapes will be very resilient and they will grow anywhere and in any climate. Whereas, other grapes are very sensitive as they are grown only in some regions of the world. All grapes can have good years and bad years, and have a great impact on the quality and availability of a particular type of wine in a given year. Even a novice drinker without any training pallet can tell the difference in the quality of a wine tasted side by side.

Barber

Barber is grown mainly in warm coastal regions and is cultivated in the Piedmont region of Italy and imported to the States to join sometime in the late nineteenth century. Wines that are made from Barber grapes have a live cherry taste and high acidity. These wines tend to have a deep, deep red.

Cabernet Sauvignon

Usually grown in cooler climates and will cushion the Loire region of southwest Long Island, France and Northern California. The Cabernet grapes will produce the wines that have a usually purple and an herb flavor. One of the best known grape wine producers in the world and produces a very consistent and recognizable flavor.

Chardonnay

The Chardonnay grapes have become famous in the recent years and produced one amongst the best white wines of Burgundy in the world. Known for the mid-season, versatility and ripening could be grown in all the wine producing regions of the world.

Riesling

Riesling grape is also grown in cool temperate regions of Europe. This type of dry white wine has a floral and fruity taste with a high acid as well as low alcohol content in it.

Sangiovese

Sangiovese grapes are grown almost exclusively in the Tuscany region (Italy) and produce a red dark wine with a plum or cherry, as the flavors and aromas.
